Bestop Guys

I got a question I've got stuck in some serious rain with the top off and it takes me like 10 15 min to put the top back on since it seems I have to remove the canvas top completely. Is there a way that the bestop will fold up with the hardware and not flap around and possibly blow off the jeep when it's not completely on and secured.

Any input is greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Can you do me a favor? Watch these two videos (about 4 minutes each) and then ask any specific questions about folding your top.

On this one, we did it as quickly as we could:
YouTube - BESTOP - SOFT TOP SPEED CHALLENGE TJ

On this one we slowed down and gave step-by-step instructions:
YouTube - BESTOP - 2 Door TJ Demo Draft1.mov

This happened to me too! I was on the freeway on my way to the beach and those Velcro straps broke, then the top flew off starting from the header. It was flying behind me hanging by the remaining straps. I got a ton of weird looks haha

I never had a problem with my Supertop blowing around when I would drop it, still connected to the hard ware. I would just stuff the fabric behind the seat over the rear door. If you were worried about it you could always just carry a tool box back there and set i on top of it. Or, bungie cord it down. Only need the cheapy fabric bungies.

Not the OP. He is talking about a full top. i hop it doesn't take him 10-15 minutes to put on a bikini top.

i use my spider web shade constantly in the summer when my regular soft top is down. i found that the little bungee cords that came with my spiderweb shade work perfectly to hold down the soft top while it's folded up in the back- they're the perfect size, and no sharp corners to damage my soft top. if you need to buy them separately, they're cheap! $1 each!

Jeep Shade Tops, Wrangler Products | SpiderWebShade.com

scroll to the bottom, they're called "spider balls".

(yeah, i snickered a little at that, too.)

For a YJ with factory hardware it's a pain in the *** to get the top down. Nothing as slick as the videos show on a TJ. Hell the five snaps on each side above the doors take 10 minutes alone! The folding all the surrounds and frames.

x2. i'm always super jealous of TJs and their soft tops.

those snaps...! i hates them! only way i can get them snapped is if the top is either wet or warm, and then i go after them with a mallet. not kidding.

Yes sir! Plus a screw driver to get them open. Broke one on the second time I took my relatively new Bestop Soft Top off.

My Bestop replace top had snaps hated it so bad . My new Supertop has Velcro . I don't even fold the hardware up on it I can take it down in about 2 min ( side windows slow me down ) If the sides are off then just a few seconds .

I missed the "YJ" part of this equation. And don't have a show-n-tell video for YJs.

But I still need some help from the OP about what the issue is.

Yes, those videos I'm going to keep studying. I need to keep practicing. If that's the legendary Britta, I may have to come down there for a seminar on this subject.

I can fold it up with the side windows out but don't wanna have to take them out to do it there has to be a way. I just wanna make it faster and easier than taking the whole top off and folding it up then it rains and I'm screwed.

I sat once in the pouring rain putting my top up for 15 minutes. My cup holders were full and by the the time I went back in to work I pulled out my wallet and it was so wet, it fell apart. And the wife asks me why I always carry a couple towels and an umbrella in the Jeep.
