Bestop Sunrider? WHo has/Worth it?

I am looking into the Bestop Sunrider top for my 93 Yj. I as we speak have had the SuperTop now for the last 2 years. It has no issues thus far and i have been happy with it as far as it goes working wise.

I woul dlike for this summer to pick up the Bestop Sunrider as a new top to be using and have for the remainder. I have been looking at the top and it is a pretty good price considering, and most of the companies out there who have been selling this product claim it is the BEST top for the jeep.

I have however been finding many bad reviews about this top and would LOVE to find out from one of our members if this is all true about how the thing breaks apart because of brittle parts, and or in the heat the Velcro detaches, etc..etc.

Can anyone shed some light on all of this for me. I REALLY want it, but i am also in the process of purchasing a house so i dont really want to waste my money for a crappy product in the sense.

MUCH appreciated.

Direct sunlight is going to obviously deteriorate the condition of plastic parts, but that probably won't be for a while, unless you live in a state where the daily high is always 120*F +. Should last you a long time, although if I were you I would consider a more summer time style top over the sunrider, such as the Bestop Summer combo kit..

Well it wouldn't just be for summer only. I'd keep it on through NJ winters as well. the Supertop handled the winters very well. Actually still is.....i think i just want the "sunroof" feature.

I've had the Sunrider top on my TJ for the last 6 years. There have been no problems, no seams ripping, velcro is still strong. Oh, and I live in Georgia where it is exposed to intense sun and heat. I'm not sure where your info comes from but you have to remember that people who are unsatisfied are more likely to speak out than those who are happy with a product.

That being said, I love this top. It's great to be able to open it up when you come out of work and want the topless feel without having to remove and store your windows. I just roll up the back window, flip back the top and enjoy my trip home.

I have the sunrider half top and I love it. Been on for about a year and haven't had a problem out of it.

I have the Sunrider on mine for over a year and I think it is great. No problems with the velcro fastenings etc. I live in Scotland so we get more rain and such than sun but it copes fine. i had mine on over winter here and it was fine.
