buying a jeep, a few?

hello to all... i was at car show last weekend a saw a new jeep with a hemi... i told my wife and see said why not do that to an older jeep. she thinks the new ones r ugly. so r the engine bays large enough to fit a v8? i think this would to be a fun project! the jeep in question is a 1990 with a 6cycl. also in 1990 jeeps came with carbs and not fuel injection? thanks

Oh yes they fit V8s quite nicely. And if i remember correctly in 1990 they were all fuel injected.

Nope, 90 was still the 4.2 with a carb, 91 started the 4.0 with fuel injection

Get a 97+ TJ then if you don't like leaf springs. They look similar to the YJ's but have round headlights. Yes with expensive lifts and coil overs you could get rid of the leaf springs but it may be cheaper to start with a 97+ TJ.
Diesel fumes make me horny!
