Can't decide on a muffler for my 4.0

The title says it all... My current exhaust is rusty and bland. I don't plan on touching my catalytic converter, and I don't want to straight pipe it. All I want to do is swap my muffler with a new one and most likely get a new tailpipe for it. I can't weld though, so would clamping it last? Also my muffler hangers are rusted off, is there an easier way to going about this?

For mufflers I've been looking at the Flowmaster 44, Super 40, Magnaflow glasspack, or a Thrush welded. I'm not looking to spend too much, I just want a deeper sound. Anyone have luck with any of these?

I have a flow master 44. It sounds nice. Not overbearing. Gives a good growl when I hit the gas but can hear it over my radio at stop lights. I would at least call a shop to see how much it would run to get one burned in. A guy charged me $20 to put in a muffler.

Muffler? What's that? Mine fell off, along with my cat, lol.

+1 for the Flowmaster, though. My buddy has one and it sounds nice. Deep, mellow, no droning.

You'll love that 44 I have one on my 4.0 it has a really good sound but doesn't give you a headache or make you have to shout at the passenger

Just installed my Flowmaster Super 44, and my new OEM tailpipe ordered from Amazon.

Muffler sounds great! Doesn't sound whiney or ricey at all.

Gives off a great throaty tone, but not too loud. No drone inside the cab.

Very pleased with my purchase!

I went with the magnaflow 2.5 in/out 4" round muffler part number#10415 and the #23229 direct fit cat. Saved a ton of weight over the Flowmaster I had and that huge azz cat. I ordered online from pepboys and advanced auto used 30% coupon codes and got a sweet deal.

Have new front walker pipe, mag cat, mag muffler and a new tail pipe under $175.
Catback systems cost 300 to 500. crazy huh?
