So I have been actually looking into this the Cherokee is not a perfect bolt up match unless you pull both booster and MC. The MC is closer to the booster and the swing arm that holds the lid on the MC binds. So if you are wanting extra braking power I would do the 95 YJ swap of booster with matching 95YJ MC. Also the mounting bracket is not the same these are not major things just PITA.

New parts are only about 300 or less at most parts store for refurbished, just be aware refurbished sometimes are bad out of the box.

I am of the opinion buy them together from Rock Auto. They give you a box to send back the core.

So if I got with the 95yj booster and mc it is a direct bolt up to my 92 no mods needed and I am going to get new parts might as well it is the brake system I want to be able to stoo

That is what I would do just remember to bench bleed the MC.

But yes the concept is simpler pull out old, bolt up new you may have to rebend the hard lines I think the holes are on opposite sides but that is minor.
