There's not a latch system like modern cars. I used to have one of those car seats that are two parts. A base that got seat belted in. And then you would just click the seat into the base.

I have just lap belts in my 89 I ran the seatbelt through latched it and has 2 of my 230+ lb buddies stand in the Car seats as I tightened this things up. They are not going anywhere they actually fit in my YJ more secure then in my XJ or wife's Altima with the latch system. Both seats are the same as the one in the foreground now also

Yea you could probably just strap the car seat somewhere in the jeep, back when I was little my dad would just strap my car seat behind the front seats in his jag.

But then again, that was like 20 years ago, back when parents weren't so cautious, but I guess I'm alive so it probably works fine.

It never seems to bother me if its a bit chilly for the top to be down though, but the passengers will usually complain or just put the heat on, not that it does very much though.
