Clutch pedal stuck in up position

Have a 93 Wrangler....went to change gears, and the clutch pedal wouldn't budge....would not go down to floor....I found that if I pressed it to the left a little it would go down fine.....fluid in the cylinder is full...and on the inside at the top of pedal do not see any leaking around the wall...maybe just a little bit of fluid but not much at all....in 2 years time have replaced 2 clutch cylinders....but for those replacements the clutch was leaking fluid out and would go all the way to the floor and stay there for lack of pressure...

Sounds like a mechanical problem under the dash

Time to contort your body into a really uncomfortable position and use a bright light to find the issue.
Luckymac, pc1p and maxtor like this.

Broken pressure plate? Makes no sense to me that you can move it with a different angle maybe bad bushing at the pedal. Keep us posted.

Could be time to swap it for a 3rd time. Could be anything in the cylinder that is catching.

Being able to push if the pedal is moved to the side tells us the issue is at the pedal

Snap ring came out of my cylinder a loooong time ago. since then a bungie sufficed. sounds like it might be coming apart and the pushrod is hanging up on the retaining washer if it's sitting crooked in the bore.
