common offset + Lift question

First post. Hello can anyone tell me what is a good wheel offest to have with a SOA lift which equals to about 5.5 inches of lift. Currently I am running a 4 inch lift in my YJ which I have owned for 16 years. I was going to retire her and pick up a TJ but decided to restore it. In the spring I will be changing the rear to an 8.8 and I figured might as well redo the suspension as well. Right now I have a 4 3/4 offset 15x 8 on 33x10.50 BFGs. With the 4 inch lift I find it very stable, but going another few inches kinda makes me wonder if there is a wheel to lift guideline I should be looking at. Would a 4 inch offset be a good balance for the extra lift? I will be going to a 35 inch tire in the summer. What offset do most run with the SOA.

Thanks for the Help.

I think most people run 3.75... A lot depends on the size of tire too. Some guys will tell you anything over a 35 should have full width axles. I like to keep my outer edge to outer edge measurements greater than my total height.

My rig is 75 inches tall and my outer tire measurements are 79... Its pretty stable feeling to me. Havent flopped it yet anyway...

If its a dd you want to find a happy medium between stability, turnabilty and bearing wear and such. If your wheels stick out real far it creates leverage and will chew through bearings If you arent on top of them regularly...

I use to run MT/R 35x12.50x15's on a set of MT Classic II's with 3.75" BS while SOA.
