dakota motor to wrangler

Sorry guys, I know its my first post. Where better to go to get answers though?

Im looking at picking up a great shape 90 wrangler 4 cyl. 5-speed.
I own a 96 dakota sport 4 cyl. 5-speed.

Bet you can't guess where this is going....

The motor may be shot in the wrangler, motor is fine in my old dakota work truck.
Can it be done. From my internet research it looks possible.
Bolt in or pain in the arse?

"The AMC I4 first appeared in 1984 with the new XJ Cherokee. It was produced through 2002 for the Jeep Wrangler, as well as for the Dodge Dakota pickup that also used the AMC/Jeep designed four since 1996."

AMC Straight-4 engine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

What do you guys think?

It could be an easy swap. I'd pay close attention to where things are though, like the A/C(if you have it), alternator and p/s pump... AMC/Jeep was known for using vehicle specific parts like those so you may need to find out if they are all the same as far as location on the engine goes.

Like I said, you'd think swapping a 4.0L from an XJ into a same year ZJ would be easy... think again.
