... Not that you have done any research or anything pc1p. The Magnum platform certainly doesn't get the support of the GM stuff, but there is plenty of potential. My biggest complaint was the cost of parts for that thing. I spent over $600 for a rebuild kit. I could get the same quality parts for a Chevy motor for half that.

Just kidding of course But I am the proud (temporary) owner of a 1999 Ram 1500, with a good running 5.9L and 46RE. I was originally interested in just the transmission, but the guy was leaving town and was tired of parting it out and ended up selling me the entire truck for $500; he even delivered it to my house 64 miles away! I figured I can get at least $200 in parts off this truck and probably $150-200 in scrap metal at a recycler, so it was a nobrainer really...

So just like my W150 Project (https://ramchargercentral.com/projec...rcsb-restomod/), I'm thinking I'm going to swap in the entire engine and trans as a "place holder" for a properly rebuilt engine down the road. The engine has plenty of juice and life left, so I can take my time and rebuild the spare 5.9L I have while still continuing to make progress on the rest of the build/upgrade. BTW, if you haven't read my main build page lately, I'm 98.8% decided that I'm going to turn Belle into a "YJ Unlimited" (basically a YJ version of a LJ). With that comes some changes to the suspension and t-case. Getting the V8 swap done soon will let me work out any bugs BEFORE breaking in a freshly rebuilt motor and will let me work on the tummy tuck and other steps in between now and "Phase III" (what I'm calling the YJ Unlimited stage).

I gotta agree with ya there! The YJ-8 is a cool "street" rig (and I love me a Scrambler!), but with the YJ Unlimited I can hit a 108" wheelbase, keep the gas tank in the same location, and maintain departure angles

I am also looking at doing this swap I have a 96 ram 1500 5.2 with manual trans looking to swap over to my 91’ YJ I’m wondering about clearance issues and how much longer the swap will be
