dumbest question ever ask.

I bought my first jeep about 6 hours ago.
i know this has to be the dumbest question, but how do you remove the upper
door from the half door?

I dont want to break anything but it looks silly with the top off and those upper canvas doors attached.

i have a 1987 YJ

The only dumb question is the one not asked.

There is a plastic strip stitched into the bottom part of the door upper. It is on the outer part at the very bottom just inside the fabric. It hooks under a metal lip fastened to the lower part of the door. You have to sort of pull it down and out or peel it out. It isn't easy. I like to start at one end and work my way down. It is easier than starting in the middle, I think.

Let us know if you need any other help.

don't forget the button at the front of the upper half, undo the button, and slide the lip out.
"The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president."

When I first bought my jeep, my wife and drove it 4 hours to get home. I couldn't understand why the upper doors were flapping so much. When we got home and I started messing around with it I figured out is was because the lip of the skin wasn't tucked into the bottom door.

I've learned so much about jeeps in the last year and every time I get onto this site I learn more!
