Yeah, those are definitely not on mine, and I've had it since '93.

Interesting, the fact that I really can’t see how useful they would be is probably why they were omitted from many of the YJ’s

Glad DMT has those others because I didnt really want to mess with mine. I would have, begrudgingly.

I was looking at where those other 2 go and it would be easy enough to put some kind of rubber to help deflect air through the radiator if need be.

Personally, I am leaving what I have and not missing what I dont have. Having them seems to block mud from getting places but also maybe keeping mud in places that I cant wash out.

Hard to say which is better.

The foam is to maximize airflow through the radiator

Did your Sahara have A/C?
My Rio does. Maybe it's an AC only thing to help the air pull through the condenser and not around it?
Just trying to think why some have it and some don't.

It does

I think some have and some don't because they are 30 years old.

Figured @IRQ would have it in his being as he's only got 50k on it and he changed out the original radiator himself.
@IRQ got A/C?

I don’t have AC, I guess I have seen the part number in question

This was a photo of that Red YJ with 4,888 original miles

There were parts designated for multiple countries you will notice flipping through the parts manual.

As I'm looking through the cooling system parts diagram other things say MID EAST.
Radiator, fan
Must be for extreme heat conditions.

Ah, page 116, figure 7-105 is 4 cylinder and they don't show either rubber radiator seal.

I’m sure it would fit the 4 cyl, but this part is still shrouded in mystery.

Agreed. It apears the foam ( not shown) is maybe an A/C thing and the rubber flat seals are 6 cylinder or MID EAST because both need more cooling. Maybe?

It's interesting, my Rio is a 9/95 which in the automotive world is often a 96. ( not always) It's also got the rubber bumpers on the hood for the windshield like the 97 TJ.
Anyone know the last month production run for the Domestic YJ?

Ya know, I've seen that claim a few times but never any official proof...
Personally, I have a theory. I think that the last of the yj's were all 95's but that some other countries may not have recognized them as such and titled them as 96's
Just a theory tho.

Either way, for best results, I'd still list them as 87-95

I do remember seeing some of the new late '95 YJs come from the dealer with the rubber knobs on the hood (instead of the loops) . The loops weren't legal in some countries I heard.
