Ethanol...blech

Just had to replace several two-cycle tools 'cause even cleaning the carbs didn't work any more...fella told me of two stations that still sold non-ethanol gas, which would keep the saw/trimmer/weed-wacker/mower/etc. running (I empty the fuel tank and run them dry after each use...doesn't work anymore). Figured I'd fill up my carbed YJ, and what a difference!....Could just be anecdotal, but thought I'd toss it out there.

Many years ago, during the Sturgis motorcycle rally, in Deadwood, there was a gas station selling Sunoco 260 (260 was their premium gas) unleaded and no "gasohol".

Could just be anecdotal, but my Harley ran better. Much better.

The only thing corn alcohol is good for is making corn likker.

Good Luck, L.M.

Ethanol does suck. I feel you pain Rick, no I only run pure premium in all my lawn machines, and have not had a fouled carb in several years.

By adding 10% alcohol to gasoline, it runs cleaner and gets about 10% worse mileage.
The net result is that you are using the same amount of gasoline to travel a given distance. I don't see any benefit.

If you suggest removing the federal requirement to add alcohol to gasoline you will have farmers and tree huggers after you with pitchforks and torches.

Just my opinion.

Good Luck, L.M.
