Falken Tires.......Opinions?

I am looking into a new set of tires for my '95 YJ. I can get a set of Falken off road tires size 31x10.5x15 for $625. Anybody out there ever use this brand? Any opinions would be helpful. Thanks.

I ran the RT615K's for autoX on my miata and a set of 912's on the miata for daily use
They were great tires for the price, I know at sema show they introduced a MT I am curious of how it will do. The AT's I sold a bunch of when I was a tire salesman most people liked them but they all went on suv's that didn't go wheeling

A friend tried the 35" Falkens & was sorely disappointed with them in the rocks.

He swapped to a 35" MT/R & was very pleased with them by comparison.

My friend Gerald (owns Savvy Offroad) has ran them for a while on his race rig for the last 2 years and won the KOH Everyman Challenge, 2 years running. He's going to run the MT version this year (next week @ KOH). We'll see how those do.

I'm running High Country 30/9.5 on mine. Can't speak for off road but ride cood and seem to grip okay. Good brand too.

I have that same size on my wife's Chero. They have been great smooth and very quiet. Also the wear has been minimal with no unusual wear patterns. She has about 8k on the set.

Falken tires are junk unless you have a mall crawler. Even the ones that have an aggressive tread aren't any good in my opinion, The rubber compound on the tread is too stiff to give good traction, but yet the sidewall is too weak. If you air them down for traction, they look like they are running flat due to poor sidewall construction.

They should get decent mileage due to the stiff tread, but I would hate to have them on a wet rainy road, might just have your hands full. They are not designed for an off road tire at all. JMO

They're not the best and you get what you pay for. But I've had worse.
