Feels good to have 5th gear back

About a month ago I heard a bad grinding coming from my 5th gear so for about a week or so I was driving in 4th gear. Then I decided to borrow the girlfriends car to keep from causing any further damage. So the past two weekends I got the parts together and tore apart my trans. With the help of my dad and all of you guys from wrangler forum it's finally done! No better feeling than knowing that you have completed another job on your jeep. It feels good to know that I have been able to fix every problem that has occurred with my jeep without having to take it to a Mechanic. Thanks guys. Here is a picture of my 5th gear. I couldn't believe how destroyed it was.

Are these the gears that everybody is talking about when they say regear? How hard was it? I'd like to redo fifth, because its getting pretty doggy while going uphill.

I think your thinking of the gears in the axles. If you have stock gears and big tires it's always going to be a pooch on hills until you regear

Ok, now I understand. Regearing involves the axles, not the trans.
