fender flares or bare

I am in the process of body work on my 95 yj. I need two new fenders because the ones in there are rusted pretty bad and it is going to be easier and cheaper to replace the ones. I am trying to decide on whether I want to put the flares on or just leave them off. Any suggestions out there. I need two new flares also.

I kind of like the bare look. But, you need to make sure there isn't a local law requiring you to have tire coverage.

And I have a couple of reasonable YJ fenders I can let go of for $150. I also have a set of TJ flares, which will go on a YJ, look kind of cool (and different) and give a little more room for bigger tires.

Gotta have the flares IMO. Looks like something is missing if you don't have em!

Leave the skirts off (presuming the cops will stay off your ass); looks much better. But if you do any mudding at all you'll end up with more IN the Jeep than on it.

I have tubes and my tires stick out about 4 inches. I was trying to decide to get flares or just inspection tires to pass. (I had just bought the jeep.)

I was out on a sandy road that had a very tight turn at the exit with a rock post. I look out my door down at the post while accelerating out onto the road and got a face full of sand.

I made the flares.

I like the look without but even stock flares keep me and the jeep much cleaner. Not to mention road debris were scratching her up a bit when I had them off.

Very good point. I have been going back on what to do when I mine. Guess the fact, it is a Jeep, your going to sctratch it whellin', but any little thing you do to protect the investment of a paint job will be in your benefit.

Me I'm going to paint the new flares I put on to match, also going to paint the tube doors I'm getting. But, gonig to stop on the rocker gaurds, they stay black.

I took mine off yesterday. Gonna put TJ flares on her. I drove to town and back without the flares. I drive with my arm out the window, not so nice when a big flippin rock comes off your tire and hits you in the elbow! I will be putting the TJ flares back on ASAP! No flares suck.
