Fiberglass tub?

Is an original or fiberglass tub better?
Whats some opinions?

Also how much is a used Fiberglass tub worth?
I saw a complete one for 500$ but was 800miles away, There is just the tub part in my area and the guy wants 1,000$ I'm imagining thats a little high, but i'm no expert.

I got some pretty bad rust, and need to do something soon, sick of being toted around in my Girls Honda -_-

Well, it won't rust but I wouldn't want a fiberglass tub. I like wheeling and I *think* a metal tub will hold up better. I don't have any experience with fiberglass tubs though, so I could be way out of line here.

Thats the same as I thought, but I'm just trying to get it fixed up and drivable again, I don't wheel much, just pull people out, or play in mud holes, not going to be hitting the tub with any trees or rocks anytime soon, i'm 18 and can't afford broken vehicles lol.

I drive a cement mixer with a fiberglass hood, and I know it isnt the same as trail riding but I take it through some pretty rough stuff and I am always rubbing against thick branches and it holds up pretty good. The fiberglass on my mixer probably takes more damage from opening and closing the hood once or twice a day then from actually driving it, but the mechanics make it look so easy to patch up, then they spray it with "mack green" spraypaint for a finish that doesnt look perfect, but looks a hundred times better then the krylon blue I spray over the rust, dings, dents and chips on my metallic blue YJ. I would love to have a fiberglass tub but there are a couple spots I might be worried about, mainly the floor pan.

New fiberglass tubs run in the $3k-$4k range. Some you can find a bit cheaper and other more expensive. But I don't think you want something like that. Either fix your tub or look for a used steel replacement.

Reason being is Everything that is inside the tub and the rear lights will need a separate ground wire run to it in order for it to work. Definitely possible but a major PITA.

You are in Fla. so you don't have to worry too much about it freezing, (fiberglass gets brittle and fragile when its froze) so you have that as a plus. But if you go off road, steel will flex when the frame does, fiberglass will too, just not as far. And the age old corvette saying..."just wrap your ass in fiberglass"...no protection what so ever if you are in a side impact accident.
