Flatties for the Square Eyes

Hey YJ guys,

I was just doing some internet searching and ended up coming across the modern classic enterprises site again (I was looking to see if they had updates on flares) It looks like they have come out with flattie fenders for the YJs. Just thought I would share the find with you YJ guys. Here are a few pics of them installed on a TJ to give you an idea. It doesnt look like MCE has any yj pics up yet.

now that looks good. if only they would come out with a flare version for those of us who have to deal with tire coverage laws.

May as well take the fenders off if you're gonna use those. They may have a problem covering my 33/12.50's.

Ya coverage is not too good, but they do offer more clearance than if you were to just remove your flares. Plus they look better than if you were just removing your flares.

so i just had a thought for adding flares to these fenders, since they appear to be designed after the flat fenders on the cj-2 and cj-3s, perhaps flare made for those would work with these.

maybe something like this:
A.E. Miller 1913-23 - A.E. Miller 2" Fender Flares for Jeep® CJ-2 & CJ-3 - Quadratec

Those might look ok on there. According to their site you can modify the stock flares to fit the fenders. All you gotta do is shorten them up and figure out a way to attach them.

this is true, but personally i didnt think it looked to good with the stock flare on it. would take a good bit of massaging on the stock flare for it to look good.

Ya I wasnt a fan of it either, I thought about making my old flares easy to put on/take off just in case the cops wanted to hassle me about it.

got a question do they make them for cj's? My fenders and flares are toast from the wreck and these would save me buying new ones I think anyway, was told to just cut off the fenders anyway

no they do not make them for cjs, but with enough modification you might be able to get hem to work.
