Frameless soft top for a YJ

Has anyone done a frameless soft top on their YJ? Just curious since I can't seem to find one commercially available.

there are a couple available. I did the Rampage frameless top so I could run half doors with factory uppers. Softopper makes one that comes with door surrounds for full doors. I am not sure what, if any half door uppers would work with the softopper. I don't hate the Rampage top and they have been good about the warranty (had to have a window replaced) and the Rampage top is half the money. That being said I would probably do the Softopper if I was doing it again. Really my biggest reason I went with the Rampage was becaause softopper had some odd looking smaller rear windows that they have since corrected.

Probably a dumb question but are the channels universal? Or do I need to stay brand specific? I have a bestop on it now.

I believe you'll need a '92 or newer roll bar (so called 'family' roll bar) in order to fit a frameless top.

Good Luck, L.M.

I run a softopper with half doors and bestop supertop uppers it's not a perfect seal a little water will drip but I park in the garage and don't drive it on rainy days so it's not an issue for me.
And yes it's the same yj I just have 3 sets of rims and tires.

I wish Bestop made a frameless top for the full doors or their uppers for the half doors.

It could use their door surrounds.

Or design one that uses TJ style plastic surrounds for the YJ. THAT would be nice. Hell even a regular top with TJ style surrounds would be appreciated.

That actually looks way better than their previous tops.

Did you purchase that top recently? I ask because I have an older softtopper in tan like yours, but their website says the new one with the larger windows like you have is only available in black.

I bought mine in september of 2017, and at that time they said they had a few spice tops left, but when they were gone, there will be no more spice ones to sell.
