Sounds like you don't have the heart of a true Jeeper... We do it for the love of the Jeep. If your heart isn't in it, you'd be better off with the Hyundai.

Much like Sushi, cowboy boots, and other things.. Jeeps just aren't for everyone.
I'll come get it if you're giving it away, however.. as they are for me :-D

My mom used to drive my grandfather back and forth to Staten Island. The traffic was always a PITA, and, tbh, NYC may not be the best place for a Wrangler. In my woods (Western PA) The wranglers are always a good choice.

Good luck on your endeavors with hyundai... and sorry about your distress over the jeep. I'll come get it, though. lol

The sad fact is, American car brands are not 100% American made even if they are assembled here. Of the top 5 cars with the most American made parts 4 are Japanese..... #1 is the 2012 Toyota Avalon. 2 is a Chevy work van, 3 is another Toyota, 4 and 5 are both Hondas.

Compete or die. Want my money? earn it. Dont rely on the mailing address of your corportate office to guilt-trip me into buying your product just to prove Im patriotic. I have a dd214 and a nifty collections of spars spanning a few decades to prove that. And lastly, the easiest way to win my loyalty...is by being loyal TO ME...build something worth paying on for 6 years.

All that being said...American motors are ever so slowly turning around and becoming worth of global distribution once again. Its been a long LONG time.

As for the OP and original thread: Its sad to lose a Wrangler brethren after only 57 posts. Musta gone real bad, real fast and real hard.

really.

To the OP, I have a 94 YJ, 98 Land Rover Discovery, and a 2012 Hyundai Sante Fe, each has its own purpose, and i would not trade any one for any of the others. Move on, get a 9 passenger sort of UV, you will never be happy. I keep a couple of Porsche for when i need real fun!

There are days I feel the same way.. and then I consider that I dumped just as much money into my Miatas over the years. If you want something that is capable (in whatever way it is capable), you pay the price of admission.

Agreed! I had problems with both cars I bought new (PT Cruiser and Ford Explorer) from day one. I can't imagine these cars would get better with time.

I'm just thankful that the depreciation curve on my Jeep is at the bottom of it's drop and anything I do to it now will only make it better for me (though I doubt more valuable).

Thanks for the responses guys. And, after ready a few of them my mind was changed. Im no quitter and I want to bring this thing back to life and make her badass. Just needed a timeout. Putting a new MC2150 on her now. Just having some issues doing that. Vacuum lines, choke, etc...thanks again for the reality. Hyundai is crap. Back to the grind with the YJ
