Full Cover with a Hot Engine

So in the south we get frequent unexplained torrential downpours often. I have a Smittybilt full cover that I like to throw on the jeep at night just in case. I never really thought about this before but should I let the engine cool before putting the cover on at night? Does it hurt my jeep or the cover to throw it on when the engine is still hot?

I used to throw a cover on it. I never really got worried about it. Just realize that the engine will primarily cool from the front (radiator) and bottom. You're by covering it you're insulating the radiator and only leaving the bottom. If you're on blacktop on a sunny afternoon, I wouldn't cover it. If it's night, the sun isn't radiating off of the ground so you should be fine. Just don't burn the cover...
