Full day of Jeep-fixing

Wheeeeeeeew just pulled back in the driveway from the car wash....

Started out as a 'Lets go mudding' day, but had to:

1. Change the oil pan gasket
2. Change spark plugs
3. Fix and tinker with the carb

Had the intent to start out at like 7am but of course got to under the Jeep around 10am lol. Had a buddy to help me so that made everything go about 1/3 faster. Pulled the pan, took the gasket to Autozone for a warranty replacement and of course they were out but there was one at the store across town. Drove all the way over there (Got taco bell...yum) made it back to the house finally and bolted it up. Swapped out the plugs, start it up and the motor was MISSING

pulled each plug wire while it was running to find out which cylinder was the culprit and turned out to be cyl #6. pulled the plug and the electrode (or whatever its called) had been pressed back to a 0 gapping At least it was an easy fix, so we gapped it and screwed it back in.

Then there was the evil of most evil carbs in the world. I actually did this yesterday. Sprayed some carb cleaner in it and realized that only the drivers side barrel was getting any air/fuel. Pulled it off and started tinkering around with it, tightened a few bolts, re-attached some springs. Seemed to be working just fine. Sprayed it clean and bolted it back up. All of a sudden stopped working again, it was like it was running into something. Sure enough the throttle for the second barrel was physically hitting a vacuum hose...wtf?? There was actually no explanation as to why, but there was no way around jerry-rigging it. So i pulled it all back off and ground off the little piece that was limiting it. I also rigged it so that both barrels opened up together, instead of the second at heavy throttle. works great and my jeep is FAST!!!

Then we went mudding and shooting like real Americans.

Then the car wash was like trying to clean.....well.....like trying to clean a mud-encrusted Jeep haha

If your day wasnt as Jeep-filled as mine, you're clearly un-American.

sounds mexican!

In an attempt to unfreeze my slider window, I pounded on it and shattered it all over the parking lot of albertson's (it was 10 degrees, dumb idea). I found a piece of plexiglass, cut it and zipped it on. After that, I went jeepin in the snow for groceries (eggs don't take a jeep ride very well). I got 2 jeep waves while I was out. good jeep day for me also, except I didn't eat any taco bell.

would have gotten all that done in half a day if you hadn't had to keep running to the bathroom to revisit taco bell...just saying!

Sounds like a productive time was had with the jeep though!
