I bought an 1988 yj but the gas gauge is not right. I found out the hard way that it registers 1/4 tank but you are OUT Of gas. what do I do to get it to read right?

The sending unit in my 95 with 2.5 is also bad and ive been using the mileage. I can go about 250-275 miles on a tank. Removing the clutch fan i also added about 5 to 7 miles per gallon easy. Changed to electric fan.

Guages not working - JeepForum.com

Try this, it's easy & almost free except for the plastic fork & the small tube of dielectric grease!
