Gimmie some good news!!

Got my jeep running after sinking it in a mud hole and now I have a terrible valve slap at 3000 rpm. The good news is it is a 2.5L the bad news is it is warm out and I want to drive my jeep... Should I look for a V8 or a 4.0? I just bought axles I was going to rebuild they are a 9" and a D44. So 4.0 or V8?

I say V8. If you have a 4 banger now, if you get a different engine you're going to need a different tranny to go with it. And with your bigger axles, they'll be able to handle the power.

I've been dreaming of a V8 when my 4.0 dies, but reality is I'll probably go a stroker. Since you will need a different transmission the V8 would begin to look more appealing. I think it would still be more work, but maybe worth the trouble.
