Got me a winch today

Warn 8000lb winch for $50.00

It was attached to the front of a 79 F150 4x4

Going to build the mount this week and when I get back from Denver going to install it on my jeep. Happy camper.

Everyone needs a winch

50 Bucks? Great price. What model is it? I'm guessing it might be an older 8274 upright?

Upright?? I know that on one of the stickers was "X8000I"
Looking at front of the winch, left side motor, switches and cover above roller, right side clutch lever.
Pulled it off the truck, hooked up a battery and tried it out. Worked great.

good deal

This is what I meant by upright. You got a great deal. Post some pix after you get it mounted.

Ok. Got ya. New to all of this 4x4 and "wheelin" stuff. Last "toy" I had was a 67 GTO that I built from the ground up. Sold it and this YJ just fell into my lap. No sir it does not look anything like that. I will post some pics tomorrow.

Welcome

It's a fun ride that doesn't end, unless you want it too.

Would this cause cooling issues with its height?

doubt it. Just keep an eye on the temp gauge for the first few trips.

No cooling problems. I tossed the mechanical fan and replaced it with a Flex-a-lite Wrangler X-treme 485. I have it operating on a thermostatic switch and/or manual override switch.
