CJ7 and YJ tops will fit. Not sure when the production year for CJ7s started, but most anything under 95 should fit, as long as its fiberglass (weren't CJ5 tops metal?).

Let me tell you about Time Machine: 95 YJ Rio Grande Edition l4 2.5l on 31s stock height springs from GS, Warrior Products .5" shackle lift, Softopper tan soft top, daystar 1" body lift, Spartan locked D30, open D35 with 4.10 gearing

Any YJ top will work without modification, 1987 through 1995. Be sure to get the rubber seals. There are 3 (two corners and a longer center section).
1987 has square corners on the soft doors and won't fit the rounded corners of a hard top.

From what I understand, a CJ7 top will have a gap at the tailgate. The CJ tailgate hinges at the bottom like a pickup tailgate and a YJ tailgate hinges at the passenger side. I guess the tailgates are a different height (YJ is shorter).

Other posters could chime in to say if a TJ top will work. They sure look the same. The TJ full hard doors use a different latching system than the YJ. Perhaps changing the striker to a TJ striker will work.

Good Luck, L.M.

I currently have a tj top (i believe) it came on my rig when i got it but doesn't fit the windshield frame correctly. But it can easily be modified with 2 small cuts made to the top seeings its a double walled top it will set the top about a half inch or more on the windshield frame and run a thick gasket and its fine also may have to drill out new holes i did for the back 4 but front 2 lined up great
