Hard Top - Half Doors - UPPERS ?????

So I want to get uppers for my half doors that will work with the Hard Top.

I do have full steel doors, but want to reserve those for winter use only.

What UPPERS with sliding windows will work with the Hard Top???

THANKS

Oh ... and in the event I go with a Soft Top next season .... is there one that will work with full steel doors and half doors with the uppers I get for the hard top?

I guess I am asking for a lot .... eh?

Bestop makes canvas uppers with sliding windows, but they won't fit a hard top. Unless they have come out with a new style. They sell two styles for soft-tops, depending on the top (round or square window corners). There are a couple of places that sell fiberglass uppers with sliding windows (Bulldawg Mfg. is one) that are made to fit hard tops, but I don't know if they will fit a soft top. They make soft tops for full doors, but I don't know if the full door tops work for half doors. Your best bet is to call a Bestop dealer like Morris 4x4 or Quadratec and ask their advice.

TJ uppers may be what your looking for. They will need some modification, so I hope you can weld or know a welder. They all have the round corners, and I believe they'll work with soft or hard tops. Good luck

Rally tops makes them as an option for their tops, there not listed for individual sale on the website but I don't see why they wouldn't sell them.

I have TJ slider uppers that work ok with my hardtop. The rear pin has to be cut and brought in about 3/4 (?) inch to fit the YJ door.

If you can find YJ uppers with round corners, you'll probably be better off. Bestop has their supertop soft top that has rounded corners for hard doors. I'm not sure what they offer for soft uppers.

So if I understand correctly, you want to use TJ 1/2 door upper Windows with a 1/2 doors, on your YJ?
FYI, the soft tops for YJs are different then the TJs.
The factory YJ 1/2 doors have a metal trim strip that either clips under or velcros the upper Windows to. My YJ had the clip type. There's a windshield channel you gotta screw on to attach the top. Also there's an integrated plastic door frame for the TJ soft top.
My 98TJ has 2 clasps that attach the windshield, and the upper Windows just sit on the doors.

If you want to use TJ 1/2 doors, on your YJ, you've got to switch out the door pins to newer TJ style.
OR mod the door latch so that uses the CJ/YJ Pins.

Hope this helps.

No no no!

Allow me to clarify......

What I have:
YJ Hard Top
YJ Full Doors
YJ Half Door

What I want to do.

1) Acquire half door uppers to work with hard top.

ALSO ......

At some point I would like to acquire a soft top and for this I need .....

2) Full kit .... frame/hardware/top.

ADDITIONALLY .....

It would be really nice if the uppers acquired for the hard top, would also function with the soft top. This also means that the full doors should work as well.

Does that help clear up any confusion?

THANKS

Bigearl was correct, tj door tops and frame on yj half door. The 1 pin must be moved and re welded. This gives you a door top that fits the yj door, and round top corner for hard top. You cannot use the same door top on a yj soft top as they have square corners.

Thanks all!

Gotcha.
A suggestion hit the salvage yards and & CL for factory YJ/CJ7 tops.
The windshields are different between YJ & TJs.

You're gonna want the YJ upper frames. The TJs have that upper plastic window frame bolts to your rollbar, that the upper Windows rests against.

Hey there!

So unfortunately, we don't offer anything for #1 listed here. However, we CAN help you out with #2. Any of our tops that are not pavements ends or a replacement skin/top comes with the full hardware kit and everything else you need for a full top.

Also, just for your info we do sell YJ half doors and uppers that work with our soft tops.

This definitely can get confusing, even on our end! If you have questions please feel free to message me, or you can always call our customer service team and they would be happy to help you and even get an order placed for you! *CassieAtBestop
