Hard top repair- who has done it?

I will try to provide pics later this week- but I was given a hard top but needs work. Here in Hawaii, hard tops are obscene in price new. And generally needs buckets of cash for a ready to use one either- if you can find one off the jeep. Hard tops are really important for both security and weather on the East Side of Da Big Island. My soft top is beyond petrified and beat. I am going to make the switch. Found full side doors recently. Now to repair the hard top.

the real bad thing is at the windshield metal piece and the roof- the metal is coming out of the roof. I need to pull the metal piece clear out, wire wheel it or sand blast it, reinstall it and glass it back into the roof.

Anyone done much repair on the hard tops? Anything I need to know about the glass?

You have to wire wheel or rough up the fiberglass of the top to "glass" in the repair or the new fiberglass wont stick. Other than that, if you have done fiberglass work before, you got it covered.

I would put the top on the jeep to attach the metal piece in the correct spot.
