Hardtops I'm not familiar enough with to give you an answer on beyond they're both YJ's so they should interchange fine.

As far as the rollbar, the 1987, if it's stock, has the 'sport' style rollbar. Which is where the front seats are covered, and then there's just an angled support bar in back.

The 1994 should have the 'family' style rollbar, which covers the back in the same way as the front. You can modify the 87 to accept the family style rollbar, but you'll need to do some drilling and work to do so.

X2. No problem with either roll bars. I've had my hard top on with both.

And yes you can swap out the family rollbar with your sport bar. Some people have said it's a direct swap but have also read that it's takes a few alterations to the bolt alignment. If you search on here there are threads about it.

I didn't have any issues going from the sport rollbar on my donor tub to a family rollbar. I don't think you'll run in to too much trouble going the other way.
