Heat plenum

I've had my YJ for about a year, and every time my wife rides in it, she complains about the cold air blowing on her legs... even with the heater on full blast. I don't feel it, so I figured she was full of it, or she was referring to the way the soft top was kinda drafty.

So, I was working to pull the carpet out for prepping it to be Monstalined and ran my hand up to the back side of the heater plenum on the passenger floor board. Low and behold, there's a HUGE hole in the top of the plenum. I mean big... Probably as big as a coffee can. I guess she wasn't imagining things after all. It's an enigma to me how this huge jagged hole could have been punched into the plastic. It's not like a person can even reach the area without taking lessons from a contortionist.

Oh well... One more thing to fix. :happydance:

Also check and see if the passenger floor vent is open. Mine gets stuck open and has to be closed by hand. The flapper control from the heater/vent control is busted and only works to open, not close the bypass.

That's originally what I figured was going on. Didn't really bother me unless someone was in the passenger seat, so I wasn't too concerned about it... Still not too concerned, really, but it'll have to be fixed eventually. I just thought it was interesting that it broke in such a strange place. It's quite the enigma.
