HELP got $1000 to spend, what to do?

95 yj, 2.5, stock except for 31 x 10.5's. very good condition. 151,000 miles. just got a donor yj too. What should I spend my money on? I have a mechanic who does the work dirt cheap, because he has lots of money and my Jeep used to be his so he enjoys it.
Sold my firebird to accommodate my Jeep habit.
my thoughts are:

- 3" lift
- quick disconnects
- tow hooks, recovery hooks
- high lift jack

winch maybe??? might get me past $1000

when i first got my jeep i put a body lift on mine, im assuming you did that to yours, well afterwards i learned that body lifts are really hard on your suspensions.... so i went out and bought rough country suspension for front and back along with a steering stabilizer and it has made a world of difference for the handling of the jeep and it allows a bit more flexibilty ( new leaf springs will do the rest) you can find the whole set up for right at 8 to 900 dollars

Get the engine back into optimal condition. Correct all the oil leaks. You don't know where the previous owner was focused.

It looks like your Jeep is trail ready, but the core of your Jeep is a properly running engine.
Start there.

I'm running a 2.5 engine with 4.88 gears in the transfer case and in the back end.

I'm not the guy to help you with this kind of question. Sorry.

the previous "owner" is a lifelong Jeep mechanic and enthusiast who owns his own shop, has his Ph.D in auto mechanics, and is a college professor for it, as well as a family friend. I have no concerns about him. He does all my work, and a lot of it for free as projects for his class.

Body lift has zero to do with ur suspention. just saying... that 1-3in lift has almost no effect on ur suspention.

for a grand i would swap the axles too 44s and use whats left for add a leaf

I'd bet there's not a guy within 1000 miles that knows more than Jeeps about him. He holds a screwdriver to the frame against his ear, listens to the engine run, and knows what's wrong.

I hear you but all my money is going into the performance of the truck, not into the interior. I have a donor jeep for all that stuff. I'm taking all the old hardware out tomorrow, replacing it, taking off the softtop frame and seat mounts, scrubbing them down, wirebrushing them and repainting them, and herculining the bed the next two days. Then I'm getting it undercoated.
Then comes the:
-lift
-high lift jack
-marine radio
-33's(from donor)
-hard top, full doors, speakers(from donor)
