HELP. just bought these tow hooks and don't understand.

I just bought these tow hooks

Reese/10000 lbs. rating black front tow hook | Tow Hook | AutoZone.com

, but they come with two bolts, but my bumper has holes that run parallel, and obviously I don't want to run the tow hooks sideways. Do i just use one bolt or do I need to drill another hole? I thought they were universal.

Those are a short hole pattern hook. The correct YJ hooks either have a longer mounting area with the holes spaced further apart or 3 holes. If there are 3 holes you don't use the center hole.
I've read on another forum about installing the hooks you have by drilling a 2nd hole into the frame. I think it goes down into the round tube that goes crossways behind the bumper.
You can always return them and buy the longer hooks.
good luck.

Yes you have to drill through into the tube, if you are going to use those hooks. Not hard at all. Or you just get the longer hooks.
