help needed, car broke down:(

Hey guys, I was wonderin if I could get some help. I am not a car guy so help me out here as my hardest installation on my car has been a burnt out bulb-LOL. I was driving today and I noticed steam coming from under my hood, then I glanced over and my Temp. gauge was at the highest it coudl go. so I immediatly pulled over and popped the hood and There was green stuff(I assume antifreeze) everywhere. So what do I need to check out? Is this a hose or radiator or where should I look on my ride to see whats goin on?
I have a 91 wrangler.

thanks for any help.

You Overheated. There are lots of reasons you could have overheated: clogged or colapsed hose, low coolant (antifreeze), bad thermostat, radiator grille too dirty, serp belt, fan not working, water pump, temp gauge........... etc.

Change your hoses and thermostat for good measure. I'd pull the radiator and gave a shop check it out, too.

Glad this didn't happen to your Jeep.

With your mechanical skills, it would be safer to just let a shop look at your vehicle. Wouldn't want you to get scalded by that green stuff. That stuff hurts.

You could have caused all sorts of problems.
Like Bluvikng said, if you original statement on your abilities was not tounge-in-check, you need to seek help either from a friend or shop.
You could have had any one of the previously mentioned problems as well as a freeze plug or head gasket.

DO NOT DRIVE IT.
If it has to go to a shop tow it.
Heads and engine rebuilds are expensive.
