Help please!!!

I have an 89 islander 4.2L, it's been sitting for two years and I just got it. He seems to run great so far except for the fan kinda runs too slow so it idles high. Whenever I drive it's fine but when I come to a stop it stalls. Any idea what's going on? Thx

The rubber boots(or whatever they are called) attached to the plastic lines rot.

When you say your fan runs slow that makes me think the fan clutch may be bad. Did you check it?
