Question How big can I go??

Hello all,

I have a 93 bone stock, and need to replace the tires soon. Was wondering what is the biggest tire I can put on before I need a lift? 31x10.5 inch? I would like to keep the stock rims for now. Also need to replace front shackles, so a small lift there is very possible.

Thanks for any and all help,
Mark

I ran 31s for a few months but did have rubbing that rounded the plastic fender flairs a bit. Put on a 4" lift and have not looked back. Still running 31s and love it. If you plan to go bigger than a 31" tire, you may also need to regear to keep performance up a bit.

Personally, I am not a fan of shackle or body lifts. I think the most bang for the buck is with a moderate suspension lift. The shackle lift will only raise the stock and worn springs putting more stress on them, causing them to go even flatter in a short time. If funds allow, go for new springs, you will be much happier. Good luck with your Jeep.

Thanks for all the info, that is what I was looking for!!

Jeep-yj-91 - what make on those tires? wear?price? might be interested. 1.5 lift shackles, so 3/4 total lift? Let me know!

turdhurdler - A 4" suspension lift is defiantly in the future, just dont have the founds right now.

Thanks again everyone,
Mark

My tires are Goodyear Wranglers. They got about 90% tread left on em. They are 31x10.5x15 on a stock Wrangler Wheel.

I'm asking $700 for all 5 wheels and tires. Price is negotiable too. I'll throw in the shackles with the buy of the tires for ya if you want.

I ran these tires with my shackles and had plenty of clearance

Let me know if you want em tho. I'm not in a hurry to sell em. haha
