How Deep?

So I was wondering... about how deep can I take my stock YJ without flooding the motor? Any thoughts?

The stock air intake is known for taking in water with easy.. thus below the bumper is about is far as I would go unless you mod that intake. The TJ stock air intake is much better.

So can I just put a TJ air box in mine? Will ir bolt right in or need some work. Im not afraid of the work, just curious.

I don't think it will bolt right on.. I would say maybe mod yours to be like it, perhaps from parts from one.. pick a pull yard etc.

The air box on the YJ is behind the turn signal. That is your limiter. You can hole saw the back of the ai r box and plug the front. That will give you more depth. A snorkel won't hurt.

Put a snorkel on the intake 8" above the top. That way you can submarine it.
