►► How much did you spend on your jeep ?? ◄◄

I Personally spent alot more than I thought I would on my jeep so far, and I'm not even near Done...We all know that sometimes we put alot more money into our car than its really worth retail specially with repairs other expenses are stuff like accessories, mods etc.. Sad part is most people will never get every penny back

Question is How much did you spend on your jeep so far??

Heres is mine
1900.00 > 94 YJ (Good deal)
300.00 > Parts
600 > Labor (some people do their own work, but I paid for mine )

My Jeep is worth $2,800 (I can still probably get $3,500 for it )

I spent way too much money on my junk. If I do it again it will be completely different. And I wouldn't start out spending 11k on a wrangler.

Way more than I should have. Last one by far was most thifty, I think I had maybe 800 total in it counting the Jeep.

I bought a '79 Cherokee in '97 for $200 and drove it for a few years before realizing I couldn't afford the gas (my girlfriend lived two hours away at the time and I was a poor college student). I sold it for $200.

I was Jeep-less until two days ago. I bought a '95 Rio Grande 2.5 full stock with 49K miles on it for $5500. I'm happy to be back a part of the Jeep experience. I doubt I'm going to do much to soup it up as my other hobby takes up more than all of my fun cash. I might add the 4.0 throttle body and/or improve the exhaust, but other than that, I'm not seeing many changes in the near future.

I have come to the conclusion that you should only drive a Jeep if you are incredibly rich or incredibly stupid. I am not rich.

Errrr you sure? it sure seem like its gonna break... should I pull on it with even force on both sides? or with some kind of twist or maybe try to work its way out pullng on one side then the other?

I wish I knew hot it locked in there to get an idea..

I couldn't tell you exactly but my 87 YJ that I bought for $800 has somewhere close to $5000 worth of parts. Only had it since September but I have completely overhauled the drivetrain with a GM upgrade!!!

ok, since its fresh in my mind...and the sting in my wallet:
-95' YJ= 6,000.00 <way over paid four yrs. ago.
-lift, and tires complete=3,500.00
-85' rebuilt from ground up chevy 5.7L 350 (carb)= 4,000.00/performace aftermarket.
-79' rebuilt chevy THM400 heavily built race/performance transmission w/ th350 conversion output shaft= 1,200.00
-92' chevy NP241 transfer case, bought and S.Y.E=425.00
-complete cyberdyne digital gauges and dash=500.00
The bad news is, I gotta still do my axles just to get to a point where i can think about other mods! so the total so far is $15,625.00 and some change. this is also w/ me doing all the work....i'm an idiot.

I've spent way too much. If I did it all over again I could do it for 1/3 of what I've spent.

i know...if i had to do it again...(thinking about getting an xj for the wife) i'd do it way cheaper. as in junk yard 350 and just re-build it stock. i used all new aftermarkt on mine cuz i didnt know squat, and thought everything had to be new. i could get a 350 from a bone yard, buy it and rebuild it for under 500.00 and it could even be tbi. same w/ a trans...just new gaskets and stock bands and what-not. 500.00. dont get me wrong, i love my new stuff...but you dont look at it while wheeling. you just need it to burn gas. so if i get ahold of an xj, im going this route.......all salvage. even the lift. w/ new tires. i should be able to go start to finnish without going ovr 5k. including the vehicle purchase. as of now...my wife is about ready to hunt for a laywer!lol.

I bought mine for 10,995 and I think a fair estimate on mods is about 8K.
