Looks like rust hiding in those rocker panels??
Also rust under hood??
Does this yj have a trailer hitch on it??
I would lift up those carpets and look at the floor boards check for rust
Maybe it did a lot on wheelin on the beach
Salt water eats these things up on Long Island
Get underneath look that chassis over for rust, body rust can be repaired
chassis rust is a nogo in my book
Then you can make an intelligent decision
Just my two cents

Rust scares me. I own a 69 camaro with minimal rust and the repairs cost me more than if i had spent money on a nice car to start with. Just my m2c.

^ i agree. make your offer and meet around 2 g's. you also gotta know the differnce between normal surface rust on the undercarriage/frame, and rot. every frame is gonna have some rust, that doesn't mean it isn't solid. if there's holes, or the frame is rotting, then i'd avoid it.

When I said chassis rust I meant rusted to the point of compromising the strength. Use a ball peen hammer and tap in the rust area when it is compromised you will know it.
Just about all chassis will have surface rust after a few years.
Be patient it will pay off
don't sound anxious
