I notice the same thing, women are less likely to wave back. And sadly, a lot of people see a woman in a Jeep and think she's either driving her boyfriend's Jeep or that it's hers but she doesn't wheel it. (Most guys I see in Jeeps don't wheel them either.) All you can really do is start looking around for off-roading groups or areas and start making friends who share your Jeep interest.

Out of all the people at my school that drive off road vehicles(about 10%) I only know one who goes wheeling. Me! Look around online, or in the local forums on here, for clubs in your state. That's how I to connected with a lot of off road enthusiasts.

Hmmm..Good to know. I'm going to give our XJ a break tomorrow and take the YJ to work instead, to show my shop friends and talk about the steps for repairs. We will see if anyone on the road notices me!

About finding a club or group, at this stage of my life, between school, work, now working on this YJ, and other things, I will not have enough time. However, one of my best friends has a Jeep. We are Jeep Cherokee buddies. We always have fun in our Jeeps together. I'm definitely gonna have some fun with her in my YJ now. And yes SHE IS ALSO A GIRL

We patiently wait for the next upgrade.
We care enough to spend all our time and money fixing problems.
Were always listening to find where that Knock, Squeak, or pop is coming from .

No you are not insane. You sound like a very smart level headed young lady. I'm willing to bet that your mom's first car didn't have air bags either. And you do have friends, lots of them. They are here on this forum for you. Take care, be safe, and keep us posted on your progress with your Jeep and your mom. Give her a chance, she'll probably come around.

Here's the link to my build by the way. I got this thing less than a week ago so it's not much yet, but it'll get there, don't worry!

I tried the link twice it no workie workie.
If I had one piece of advice to give to someone starting a build it would be, Be Patient and don't rush to any modifications research thoroughly before starting work OR buying parts.. I See ads for parts for sale all the time from jeepers that change their mind after buying parts

Jeez, I am so bad with technology it's funny. But I will try to figure out the link issue tonight. You give great advice. I am taking this build pretty slowly because I have other commitments so I am gaining more knowledge in the mean time. I haven't bought parts yet either, but I do not need much, at least for now haha.

Its Ok I had looked up already, I wouldn't have known how to post the link either..
Yesterday I tried to post a link to a you tube video and I accidently posted the video.
So if you need to know how to post a you tube video give me a holler.
