i Shouldnt have to...

I shouldnt have to modify a new part just for it to fit and work as it is intended. But thats exactly what i had to do with a new steering shaft i purchased from an online retailer. i had to grind off about 1/16-1/8 inches off the gear box end just for it to fit down far enough to where i could get the bolt in the right spot and then come to find out the hole on the steering shaft was drilled 1/16 inch too far in, so i decided to force the issue and screw the bolt in till it stopped. now i can steer the jeep.

i couldnt use the old shaft because it had to be cut in half to get it out...or pull the entire steering column out, but cutting was way faster.

i really hope the cowl seal i purchased isnt modify as needed, otherwise the online retailer will never get my business again, as of right now im debating whether or not to deal with them again, bad first impressions are hard to over come.

What brand part is this specifically? Was it just a replacement part or an upgrade?

Its just a stock replacement shaft, as far as brand goes id be guessing but most likely crown automotive since its the cheapest out there.

I wouldn't complain if it were an ebay special, but its not.
