I'm Done...Tired of it...For Sale...

My YJ has gotten on my last nerve. On the way home yesterday it pulled the bolts loose from the block that hold on the engine mount. I'm done with it, if anyone wants a YJ I'm looking to get $3500 for it after I fix the mount issue. New motor out of a 2000 Wrangler, I have 4" lift springs in it and 2" on it, slip yoke eliminator installed with Tom Wood's Custom Driveshaft, new soft top, new motor mounts and transmission mount, electric fan installed. The Jeep drives great, no vibes, no drifting, and when it's running it's awesome. If anyone wants I'll give it up for $3000 as is right now. It's in Stella NC, that's just north of Jacksonville NC.

No your not going to sell it. Your just pissed at it. We've all gone thru those times with our rigs. Just put it back together tighten everything up and wheel the hell out of it. You got yourself a 14 year old piece of equipment there It's bound to have things go wrong with it.

If you are serious, and not just pissed off, I will buy it from you. Just have title ready for transfer. But sleep on it for a couple of days, you really will miss it.

Okay...calm down and take a deep breath. You know the second it hits the end of the driveway your gonna start missing it. Trust me on that.

Sorry about the problems. If you do sell it do you have plans on getting another one or what? Just curious, cause you cant go on living without one.

You know, they keep comin out with TJs and Rubicons every year, but the YJ is gone. Its an endangered species. Just put what needs to be done into her. If you're a true jeeper, we all know you'd get another rig and put the same amount of $ into it. So you'd just be setting yourself back in time

I'm serious. I already have a 77 280Z I'm working on and I was trying to use the Jeep as a daily driver and occassional offroad toy, but I rarely get to go offroading because it keeps breaking things on road and it's sucking away my restoration funds. I need to let it go and maybe later on down the road when I can afford this kind of mess I'll get another one. I have the title at home.

Also I drove it in to work today and it seems to be alright, but all I did was grab some leftover bolts from the engine swap and bolt it back together with some lock-tight. Not sure how long that will hold, but it's for sale if someone else wants to take that problem..

I have to agree with what everyone has said. Don't sell it. I had a beautiful CJ-7 when I first got married. Had the V8, 3" lift, the whole bit, but over a few years the weather in Hawaii got to it and it really started going south. Then the wife who couldn't drive a stick convinced me to sell it. One of the saddest days in my life was teh day I saw that thing driving off. Fast forward 12 years and there wasn't a day when I didn't think about digging up another CJ but the prices are so outrageous so I wound up picking up an 89 YJ. It has been a rolling wreck and I am just now getting a new motor put in it but I am not going to let it go. I have plans for this one...

If you gotta sell, you gotta sell...but my story is this: I bought a beater '72 Satellite station wagon in college from the original owner for $500. Carried me and all my buddies all over the east coast for four years; took us to Key West for countless Spring and Christmas Breaks, endless "Diner Runs" to the all night diner...graduated college, put a crate motor in the wagon, ran it at the track (13.40s on a smallblock station wagon wasn't bad), and eventually about 11 years (maybe 12) after I bought it I realized "I'm not going any further with this thing, I should sell it". Pulled the drivetrain, sold that, sold the body at an auction. Missed it from day one, watched wagons become the Next Big Thing in hot rodding, got more and more pissed at myself. Three years later I'm browsing on eBay, type in Plymouth Satellite for some reason. Up pops a grille shot of a '72; let's check this out. Station wagon. Green. Side shots show my SuperBee white stripe. Holy s*$T!! MY CAR!!!! I'm in Maryland, guy's in Mass, we email back a couple times, he confirms it's my car because my old registration is in the glovebox, we phone a couple times, he bought the car, put a fresh motor in it and was going to restore it but found a 1 of 4 big block stick station wagon to play with instead. I waffled. He said he'd BRING me my car to Maryland for FREE since he was picking one up in the next town over anyway and knocked some more $ off the price. Sealed the deal, got my car back, best thing I ever did. Now the car's getting finished - the right way I guess what I mean is, if you love it, you'll miss it eventually. If it misses you, though...it'll find its way home somehow. Sorry to hear a vehicle leaving a loving home, but if it's time, it's time. Good luck with the Z-car - my late Uncle's 240 just got finished being restored by his grandson. Torquey little bastards, lots of fun in the sand!
