Being an IAE-V2500 Mechanic, the thought has crossed my mind once or twice, then the dread sets in when I realize all the extra components I'd need and the millions of dollars I'd have to spend just to get it up and running lol

IAE V2500? I design parts for the CFM56 turbofan engine......but for the OP's Jeep I would suggest an F100 engine.

The flux capacitor I have in mine is awesome. Even makes the Jeep leave flaming tire marks when I take off. Just get one of those.

I think it would be better to make a nuclear powered jeep. Depending on where you live you can find uranium ore in the mountains the hard part would be enriching it, building a centrifuge, containing the heavy water, building a cooling tower, building the reactor vessel, all the lead you would need ( if you want to go that way, alittle gamma particals never hurt anyone, i was born a days drive away from chernobyl trust me ) thats most of the big stuff next you got the weight issue, again depending on how safe you want to be lead weighs alot and if you get that worked out you have to overcome the extreme heat ( billions of kelvin ) fission generates or if your doing fusion look for a huge magnete. You know it may work actually i mean they wanted to make a nuclear car in the 50's, i believe it was ford? (Nucleon?) Don't quote me though. Good luck!

I thought that would have been a great Jeep commercial. Curiosity pans around with it's camera, finds tire tracks, follows the tracks and find a Jeep tearing up a hill on Mars. Jet engine would be overkill in the lesser gravity though.

I see no reason not too. Pratt & Whitney make a turboshaft jet engine (PW210) that has 1000 shaft horse power coupled to a gearbox. Typically this is used for a helicopter. I see no reason why a guy like yourself can't fit one into a Wrangler. An Advabnced Adapters Atlas II transfercase will hold up to it.

A jet engine, eh? Be the first time a Jeep would belong in the passing lane.
