Jks Telescoping Track Bar

Hey guys and gals,

I'm in the process of removing and testing my YJ without the track bars. I LOVE the increase in flex offroad but on the road I'm feeling just a little unsettled due to the increased body roll from removing the front track bar. I saw the Jks telescoping track bar and thought it would work great but I wanted some input from you guys to see how everyone liked it or didn't like it. I'd appreciate any feedback.

TIA

Are you sure you are talking about the track bar, not the sway bar? The track bar does nothing for body lean, just keeps the axle from shifting right to left which isn't a big deal on leaf spring vehicles anyway (with good shackles/bushings etc.)

Can't see the advantage of a telescoping track bar other than a one time adjustment to accomodate a lift and keep the geometry with the drag link in order to avoid bump steer.

A sway bar does nothing but prevent...body sway in corners, on side hills, etc. at the expense of individual wheel flexing, of course.

hey kilz...wansfels right!..i have 4.5" of lift on my YJ..no trackbars or swaybar! but mine rides good on road..i also used the jks telescoping trackbar..nice bit of kit but gave me bump-steer when i attached it!!?? it has a locking nut on the centre to loosen when offroad or tighten back up when on level ground..i still have it in my garage! but i also used swaybar discos which made the vehicle feel much better on road..so id say invest in the jks discos instead!

Hey guys -

Yeah its the track bars. The lift kit had relocating backets... so it was relocated instead of removed. I have JKS discos on my sway bar.. and those really help keep the jeep stable. But when I took off the track bar I was noticing more body roll. Not really sure why because I agree with wansfel that the track bar is more for axle control. I have 1/4" shackles with prothane bushings so that helps quite a bit. I heard that running with no track bars kills your bushings and adds stress to your shackles and springs..... Regardless it looks like the track bar is my best route.
Birtydugger - interested in selling that Jks track bar? London is a bit far from South Carolina and currency exchange... lol maybe too difficult yes?

Birtydugger - your jeeps look awesome! I'm leaning towards the red YJ but I like the black one for sure The Kumho's are awesome - and I agree about the BFG's. They are ok but I personally think the Kumho's are better. I figured shipping costs would kill me...just a wild stab in the dark with that idea haha. Yea I spruced up my rear Dana 35 to a Super 35 which helps alot. I'd love to put a D44 or D60 in it but that gets costly. I considered putting 35's on my YJ but realistically that would make the flex upward worse unless I had a larger lift like a 6" or an SOA. The 4.56 gears and the Detroit locker make it unstoppable and pair well with 33" tires. Having lockers front and rear makes it an absolute beast. It takes a little getting used to to drive it with a locker in the front - coast thru turns, if your speed is between 2 gears it's always best to choose the higher of the two gears, etc. But overall it makes it crazy offroad. I'm all about keeping the center of gravity low while improving flex so that's where the removal of track bars is coming in. Oh and I like the looks of the Hi-Lift of the "bonnet" lol

What is the skull and cross bones in your windshield? Jeep club symbol? And on the black YJ does that hood scoop help at all? And you need to get winches on the fronts of those YJ's
