Fred Williams is great. I think anyone on this forum would get a kick out of all his episodes. One of my personal favorites is the episode where he turns a motorhome into a massive go cart!
If you're really into cars in general, check out the roadkill series as well. Great content that redefines what you can do with junk that you may find just sitting around!

I stumbled across this show on YouTube. I follow the channel and caught that episode. Really enjoyed it! Made me want to find a beater YJ and do the same. One day, I'll add it to the obsession.

I watched that episode and thought to myself, "man, his yj looks to be more comfortable than mine!"

Yeah doesn't it!? It's deceiving I think? You see the suspension moving and think it's a soft, cushy ride but I bet it rides like most. Just a guess though

There's a shot in the episode (cab view) where they cross some bumpy terrain, and it doesn't seem cushy by their reactions. But it surely comes off as the perfect YJ.

Great episode, but I'm sure there was some TV magic involved...you don't just buy a vehicle from a junkyard and slap a battery in it and drive off...That Jeep was in really good shape when they started. I'm sure it was planted there for them. Regardless, they had a fun time and it really makes me want a lift and big tires now, even though my plan has been to do a stock restomod on my Sahara.

So did anyone notice they had knobs to fold down the windshield quickly? I can't seem to find any for a YJ. Same thread pattern as CJ? I did notice when I looked at my Jeep that it looked like the half doors would interfere if there was a knob there.

Junkyard YJ 😊

Yes! I was noticing the same? Was wondering about that. I'd imagine you could make some pretty easily?

You can check out Sgt. Jeep on Facebook. I bought 4:10 axles and a hard top from him a couple months ago.

About a 4 hour drive for me!

You can only use the cj knob without doors on a yj. With doors they hit.

That's what it looked like but I wasn't sure. Have you confirmed this? I've found the CJ knobs for about $30 a pair and kinda want to try it.

If you have access to a welder or know somebody who welds just cut the head off the pool and weld a little section of metal on there to allow you to tighten and loosen the bolt. Make sure you leave room to clear the door.
