I will try to get pictures soon.
Here are the stats.
1990 4.2l jeep wrangler 3in body lift on 33" thorn birds. 96,xxx miles. White with grey interior. $3250 5speed.
Here is what I have found to be wrong.
Temp gauge isn't working. I changed the thermostat and that didn't help. Any ideas?
Ac does not work
E brake level won't stay down, therefore my e brake doesn't work.
This is not my daily driver so I will playing with it for a while.
I want to remove the body lift and put a suspension lift.
And the lighting on the gauges do not work when the lights are on. None of them. Any solution to that?

As for the temp guage not working check the sending unit its a one wire sensor located on the drivers side rear of the head. Right next to the valve cover. It might not be pluged in, if it is just replace it its like $10.00 at autozone.

Sometimes the E-brake handle needs to be pushed in on my '89 for the brake to engage. Try pushing the handle back in.

A/C? Never heard of it.... Does the compressor turn on? Checked the pressure yet?

Maybe it's just a compressor for the vent and heater?!?!? Idk

after some fooling with, i think the e-brake will hold its just a matter of getting the lever to stay down. once i can get it to stay down the brake works.

i think theres a recall on yj ebrakes. i never trustmine ,twice now its popped off so i always park it so it wont walk away on me and hit something. it sucks when wheeling on a steep grade and you need to jump out to take a pee! thank god theres lots of rocks around to stick under the tire. it seems to be working better since i sprayed it with wd

some people with fuel injected yj,s have had the dealor replace the foot pedal assembly and found that it run out of gas after starting. it seems theres a ground wire under one of bolts and its for the fuel pump. they forgot to put it back on.

i was just saying the 91 and newer yj's have a ground wire that the 91 and newer yj's use one of the bolts that hold down the parking brake foot pedal assembly. its for the fuel pump. some times people forget to put the ground back on. does that make sence?

None of the centre cluster lights on mine were working either, check engine light, signal indicators, e-brake light, tach nothing.
Turns out the already replaced rotted windshield frame let enough water in over time that the ribbon wire harness that works the entire cluster had corroded into several pieces.
I couldn't find a new or used replacement so I picked up a fresh pack of smokes,my soldering iron and about ten feet of 24guage wire and patched it up.
Now everything works, even the upshift light.
Ours had way more wrong with it than yours but should be on the road this week.
Good luck
Rob
