Lift Question

I'm assuming that this rear track bar extension means that I have a lift.

Would that be a correct assumption? I keep getting conflicting info from the PO (my brother).

Pic won’t load. Post pics of Jeep and suspension (including leaves), and it will be readily apparent.

Lift or no lift, get rid of it. It is not needed for leaf suspension. One thing less to worry about.

Often times new (read new lift) springs will have a number painted on them.
Look for that number and try Googling it along with a search term like "YJ lift spring #".

Since you have a track bar extension I would assume that you have a lift equal to the height of the extension.

What size tires are you running and whet's the height of the bottom of your rocker panel to the pavement?

Good Luck, L.M.

31" tires, @18" from the floor to the frame, @22" from the floor to the rocker panel. The extension is 2.5"

I haven't searched every inch, but the only thing I've found so far is a "Made in Canada" sticker.

Yes, I know it's not needed. Yes, I know to get rid of it. I haven't had the chance to.

I'm running 31" BFG's with a 2.5" lift. 17" frame to floor, 22" to rocker with a 1" body lift. I'd guess you're at a 2.5" - 4" lift, without any body lift.

Thanks. I'm considering replacing the springs as it's a pretty bone jarring ride. My wife says she likes the Jeep, but sometimes it beats us up.

You didn't tell her it's supposed to be that way ahead of time?

She knows, but that doesn't mean she likes it.

There are some bumps on the road that even I know are coming that I have to brace for.

Then there are the times I feel like it bucks like a Jeep on an 80's TV show.

Those track bars contribute to the harsh ride. Get rid of them before you decide to spend money on new springs.

Yj's absolutely don't have to ride harsh...
My 94 on 4.5" re springs with front track bar connected and rear deleted rides very soft.

I'm thinking I got a cheap lift with some stiff springs. It wants to buck sometimes over certain road imperfections.

Probably ROUGH country....

Could just be harsh shocks tho.... you could try pulling them off and driving over some bumps at low speed... see if it's still harsh or just soft and bouncy...

If you do this DON'T go far or fast... just a 2 min test

Shocks most likely need to be replaced...
