Little Black Bottle???

I have a 87 wrangler and i noticed that i have a small black bottle by my passanger side fender

it had the old sift motor vacume lines running to it but i took all of them out when i put in my possi-lock system

last night my friend told me that that bottle has something to do with my breaks and i was just wondering what it is really for

and if it is for the breaks how is it supposed to be hooked up

thnx guys

doesn't look like charcoal canister to me, looks like vacuum resevior to store vacuum. if your vacuum was disconnected on your brakes you'd have a huge leak, and would barely be able to stop. i think you're fine.

not sure on older yj, but charcoal canister is near the tank i think. shift actuator vacuum isn't gonna go to charcoal canister.
