Lock Right automatic locker

I am thinking about installing a Lock Right automatic locker in the Dana 30 axle in my 1991 YJ. It is my daily driver when I cannot ride my bike. I will be using it in 4 wheel drive some when the roads are covered with snow. Will I have any problems running on roads in 4 wheel drive with it installed?

IMO its better to have a locker that you can select to have it on or off. With the automatic lockers they can engage at random times and possibly cause you to loose control since your not expecting it

I ran a lockright in the front 30 of my TJ. 95% of the the time on the road you will not know its there. Make a sharp slow speed turn and you will hear some clicking.. this is normal.. However if you drive snow covered roads, I would recommend saving the extra money and get a selectable unit such as ARB. Reason being a full time locker in the front,(any of them) will make steering a bit crazy as it will tend to pull left and right as it one side gets traction then the other. ON the other end I also ran a rear detroit locker in my cj and in snow it was great, no issues..on the road when shifting it would sometimes cause the jeep to jump a bit.

When the roads are covered with snow I will be using my 2003 Dodge Quad Cab 4x4 for the daily driving but will be using the YJ to play around some. It will not be used as the daily driver then.
