looking for a used tub

Hello All

The more I get into the body of my 91 Wrangler the more I think a used tub might be the way to go....where does one look for a good used tub?

My YJ is a 91 and I have been told to only look at the 91 to 95 model years as the pre 91's really rusted!!! thats hard to believe

I am in NE Ohio in the Cleveland area but I will drive for something if its worth it

thanks for any info

Search and when yor ready to give up search some more.87 through 95 are the same.....Check.. this forum, craigslist, local papers, salvage yards, even in peoples driveways... You may need to buy a complete Jeep to get what you need.... I needed a tub and frame also and ended up buying a complete 89 YJ from a memeber here and was the best move i ever made... I'm in the process of prepping my tub for paint and swapping it in soon.. Good luck with your search...

I'm in the same situation as you.

Bought an 87 and only owning XJs I didn't know that the diamond plating on the jeep was there just to cover up the rust -_-

Stupidest mistake. I just keep finding more and more rust, I just found a fiberglass Jeep CJ, with no motor and trans, so might just do a swap.

Almost every body piece is in reproduction. If your body is that bad how does your frame look? My 92' is typical Ohio, rotted frame and tub and through the miracle of metal and welding mine has been resurrected. I'm on the westside in Amherst if you want to see it sometime.

I just noticed you are in Cleve area. Give brookside auto wrecking a call. I was just down there salvaging some jeep parts. They have 2 yj's that at a glance looked good. Brookside is next to Cleve zoo.

ebay and craigslist are the 2 best places. i needed a new tub for my CJ7, i found a tub from a '93 yj for $500. it included: tub, windshield, tailgate, dash, steering column, master cylinder and brake booster, all hinges, mirrors, dash and steering column, roll bars, and a brand new set of poison spyder rock sliders (those alone are $500). i had to drive 2 hours to get it, but totally worth it. you would be surprised what kind of awesome deals you will find on CL.
