Need a 2" lift, go with body lift or helper leafs?

Need a 2" lift so my tires clear better. Stock lift right now. Would I be better off with a 2" body lift or a set of 2" helper leafs like these ones rough country sells on ebay?

87-95 Jeep YJ 2" Add-A-Leaf Suspension Lift Kit | eBay

They say they make the ride stiffer, but I'm sure if I took off my track bars I would likely be close to where I am now in terms of stiffness. I really don't want to spend the $ on new leafs right now, especially for only 2" of lift. Suggestions?

i would do a 1 in shackle lift and 1 in body lift. add a leafs will make it too stiff in my opinion. i would also remove the track bars and swaybar no matter what you decide to do.

I don't mean to hijack this thread but will I have heard shackle lifts will give you bumpsteer? Is this something to consider when getting a shackle lift or is 1'' not enough to worry about?

1" lift shackles is the most you should go, more than that and your springs will sag to the point of inversion. Either go with 1" shackle and 1" body, or a 2" body lift if you are going for cheap. The combo is the better option.

2" lift shackles will make the springs sag alot faster, and with being 10" long they look bad and would kill your approach angle.

Okay, well sounds like the 1" shackles and a 1.25" body lift is probably what I want right now. Thanks guys.

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

I learned no body lifts on a unibody in my first few weeks 5 or so years ago lol.. There is one store in the area that sells parts but the guys are well lets just say not enjoyable to deal with, so I don't even waste my time just going there to screw with them.. But yes yes there was a day a long time ago where I did ask about the possibility of a bl and got a look of amusment lol
